Whatcom County Health food safety inspection activity (Jan-Feb 2026)

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The following information is pulled from food safety inspection public records provided by the Whatcom County Health & Community Services (WCHCS). WCHCS inspects restaurants, food trucks, coffee shops, bars and grocery stores.

According to WCHCS, there are 4 types of inspection results.

• Approved – When there were no or very few safety violations found, leaving no need for a follow-up.
• Follow-Up Inspection Required – When some violations are found but do not rise to the level of needing to be re-inspected. High-risk violations are to be corrected right away. Another inspection can be expected within 60 days.
• Reinspection Required – When there are many high-risk or repeat violations. All high-risk violations are to be corrected immediately. Inspectors will increase the frequency of inspections, and another inspection can be expected within 60 days.
• Permit Suspension – When ordered to close immediately, but temporarily, due to a severe health hazard or repeat violation. Severe health hazards include things like an outbreak of illness, sewage backup or lack of water. When a permit is suspended, the person who operates the establishment must attend a hearing, correct all violations and the establishment must be re-inspected before the permit can be reinstated.

As of February 18, 2026, inspection results during the prior 30 days available in the WCHCS database included 55 perfect scores, 1 permit suspension, 1 requiring reinspection and 27 approved.
