Chuck Hamstreet, owner and operator of Northwest Licensing, located at 2502 Cedarwood, Bellingham, passed away in December of 2025. He had operated the business as a WA Department of Licensing subagent for over 10 years.
As a result of Hamstreet’s passing, Whatcom County Auditor’s Office is currently accepting business proposals for a replacement vehicle and vessel licensing subagency office in the north Bellingham area of Whatcom County.
Proposals must be received no later than 4:30pm, March 20, 2026.
Whatcom County will make a recommendation to the Director of the Department of Licensing, State of Washington, who makes the final subagency appointment.
