BELLINGHAM, Wash. — GEAR AID®, the leader in gear care, repair, and maintenance products for outdoor enthusiasts, announced that Campsuds, the original multi-purpose camp cleaner, is becoming part of the GEAR AID family.
First introduced in 1968, Campsuds helped establish the category of biodegradable camp soaps and has remained a trusted favorite among campers, backpackers, paddlers, travelers, and outdoor professionals for decades. Known for its concentrated formula and versatility, Campsuds has earned a loyal following by delivering effective cleaning performance in the outdoors.
On October 21st, GEAR AID finalized the purchase of the Campsuds business and brand rights from Chris Maurer, owner of Sierra Dawn Products. The ownership transition will enable GEAR AID to expand on the 58-year heritage of product innovation and stable business growth by the Maurer family and the team at Sierra Dawn Products.
“Campsuds is one of those iconic products that has built a reputation through generations of outdoor use,” said Clark Campbell, President of GEAR AID. “We’re excited to bring Campsuds into the GEAR AID line and continue making it available to the retailers and outdoor enthusiasts who have trusted it for years.”
“The people at GEAR AID share many of our same values and nimble approach to business as we do at Sierra Dawn Products,” said Chris Maurer, President of Sierra Dawn Products. “I look forward to seeing how they foster the growth of the Campsuds business over the next 58 years.”
Campsuds products will now be available for direct ordering through GEAR AID, as well as through existing distribution partners including Liberty Mountain and Red Pine Outdoor Equipment. Retailers already placing orders with GEAR AID can conveniently add Campsuds replenishment orders alongside their existing GEAR AID purchases.
The Campsuds product line includes the Original Campsuds multi-purpose cleaner in 2, 4, 8, 16 fl oz, and gallon sizes, and Campsuds Citronella in 4 fl oz.
Retailers, distributors, buying groups, and industry partners interested in stocking Campsuds can contact their GEAR AID sales representative or visit www.wholesale.gearaid.com for additional information.
