Citing changing business needs officials with T-Mobile USA, Inc. notified the Washington State Employment Security Department that 393 employees at the following 13 T-Mobile locations statewide, including an unspecified number at the Bellingham call center located at 340 W Bakerview Road.

These facilities are not being closed. The layoffs are not due to relocation or contracting out employer operations or employee positions, but it is possible that some work currently done by these employees may at some point be done by others. While employees are encouraged to pursue open T-Mobile positions, these layoffs are expected to be permanent. There is no union at this location and there are no bumping rights.
At least sixty days’ advance notice has been or will be provided to affected workers, with an estimated first day of separation of April 2, 2026.

This move mirrors a layoff WARN notification by cellular services competitor Verizon in November of 2025 effective January 23, 2026. In that notice, Verizon said 165 employees at 34 Washington locations and remote employees would be laid off, including 11 at the 4303 Meridian Street location in Bellingham.
