Citing changing business needs, officials with T-Mobile USA, Inc. notified the Washington State Employment Security Department (Employment Security) on August 26, 2026, about layoffs impacting 77 employees at 13 T-Mobile locations statewide and some remote workers. The layoffs include an unspecified number of workers at the Bellingham call center located at 340 W Bakerview Road and a T-Mobile storefront at 1315 W Bakerview Road, Ste 106.
About half of the locations impacted are expected to be closed.
The layoffs are scheduled to occur between September 21, 2026, and November 18, 2026, according to the notice.
The notice states that the layoffs are permanent and are occurring due to changing business needs. A portion of the layoffs are due to relocation, with some impacted employees offered relocation opportunities.
T-Mobile issued a similar notification to Employment Security in February regarding layoffs impacting 393 employees. At the time of those layoffs, no locations were being closed.
The layoffs affect employees at the following locations.
- 1315 W Bakerview Road in Bellingham (scheduled to close)
- 340 W Bakerview Road in Bellingham (scheduled to remain open)
- 1200 block of N 45th St in Seattle (scheduled to close)
- 22300 block of 30th Dr SE in Bothell (scheduled to close)
- 3600 block of 131st Ave SE in Bellevue (scheduled to remain open)
- 3600 block of 131st Ave SE in Bellevue (scheduled to remain open)
- 12900 block of SE 38th St in Bellevue (scheduled to remain open)
- 3600 block of 131st Ave SE in Bellevue (scheduled to remain open)
- 3600 block of 132nd Ave SE in Bellevue (scheduled to remain open)
- 3800 block of Pacific Ave in Tacoma (scheduled to close)
- 300 block of SE Chkalov Dr in Vancouver (scheduled to close)
- 2500 block of W Nob Hill Blvd in Yakima (scheduled to close)
- 1200 block of N Columbia Center Blvd in Kennewick (scheduled to close)
- remote employees across various locations
According to the notice, affected employees have received or will receive at least 60 days advance notice. The affected workplace has no union and no bumping rights.
