Officials with CHS Inc. sent another WARN notice, dated March 5, 2026, to the Washington State Employment Security Department advising they are selling 5 more CHS Northwest stores.
CHS Northwest is selling multiple store locations in Washington. This letter serves as CHS’s official notice under Washington’s Mini-WARN Act (WA.S.B. 5525).
Specifically, CHS is selling the stores located at the following locations:
- Ferndale Farm & Home: 1720 LaBounty Drive, Ferndale, WA 98248
- Lynden Express & Gas: 300 Main Street, Lynden, WA 98264
- Lynden Farm & Home: 415 Depot Road, Lynden, WA 98264
- Nooksack Farm & Home: 104 Nooksack Avenue, Nooksack, WA 98247
- Nooksack Express & Gas: 102 Nooksack Avenue, Nooksack, WA 98247
We currently expect the sales will impact 57 employees in the State of Washington. These layoffs are permanent and are expected to occur on May 5, 2026. This change will not result in the relocation or contracting out of any impacted employee’s position.

CHS Northwest announced January 28, 2026, they were closing a Lynden location and laying off 11 employees. They announced February 20, 2026, they were closing 4 locations and laying off 38 employees.
Yesterday’s announcement brings the totals to 10 locations being sold and 106 employees being laid off.
CHS Northwest, has operated 7 “farm and home” retail locations and 8 “fuel and express” locations in Washington.
