YWCA Bellingham becomes first customer for Puget Sound Energy multi-occupant solar program Solar array installed to reduce utility costs for nonprofit housing provider

YWCA Bellingham is the first customer to participate in the Multi-Occupant Solar (MOS) program from Puget Sound Energy (PSE). The program allows occupants of multi-unit buildings to share energy generated by a single solar installation.

Ecotech Solar installed the solar array at the YWCA Bellingham facility. Energy produced by the array will be credited to the utility bills of the organization.

The MOS program was designed to provide solar energy access to renters and occupants of multi-unit properties. According to PSE, the initiative allows for solar energy credits to be distributed across multiple utility bills.

YWCA Bellingham has operated in Whatcom County since 1907. The organization recently added a second shelter location to provide housing for single women and children.
